The Torras i Bages Library is much more than a bookshelf: it is the cultural living room of the Vilafranquins. Since its birth in the first third of the 20th century — as a tribute to the bishop and writer Josep Torras i Bages — the equipment has grown to become a nerve point for reading, digital literacy and social dynamism.
Its building combines Noucentista elements with modern extensions that add natural light to study rooms, children's areas and the creation space “Fil d'Ariadna”. Among the most valuable collections are the local newspaper library, the archives specialized in oenology and the volumes that document the Festa Major.
The library hosts book clubs, author presentations, film cycles, writing workshops and small-format exhibitions. It is also the gateway to the collective catalogue of the Municipal Library Network of the Diputació de Barcelona, with interlibrary loan services and digital resources.
In a municipality where wine culture permeates every corner, La Torras i Bages bridges tradition and future, promoting open and shared knowledge.
