Penedès Bridge

Before the wine works its magic, the first sip of the harvest is the must — sweet, thick and full of primary aromas of white fruit and flowers. In Vilafranca there is a whole celebration: the “Most Festival”, at the beginning of November, combines cinema dedicated to wine culture with must tastings and pairings of Gall del Penedès. The must is consumed above all during the days of pressing, still slightly tormenting, and it is common to find it in the markets in clay jars. Traditionally it was used to accompany the coca garlanda or to make the local “honey and curd”.
