BackLegend has it that, for centuries, tiny beings called Vitis have lived in the vineyards and hidden corners of the Penedès. These characters, almost invisible to human eyes, protect the vineyard and are shown only to the most daring children. The Tourist Office invites visitors to become explorers and visit various places in Vilafranca to locate the town's own Vitis and, if they wish, start collecting them all with the official album.
The search can be started any day and time — ideal for filling a vacation morning or a weekend afternoon for the next three weeks. You can participate individually or as a family, choosing the itinerary and pace that suits you. Each point of the route reveals clues, stories and riddles that help to better understand the secular relationship between the population and the culture of wine.
It is an autonomous and free activity, designed for children to discover the historic center playing and adults enjoy a pleasant walk between squares, alleys and heritage spaces. To start it, just collect information at the Tourist Office or visit the Vitis website, where there are also downloadable contents and educational material.
