Since 2003, the Colla de Geganters has dedicated Palm Sunday to exhibiting Ferragut and Elisenda — centuries-old giants of the town — beyond Corpus and Festa Major. They invite a couple of historical giants from other villages to dance and organize a parade, a meeting of collectors of cava plates and a final dance in front of the Casa de la Vila.
The day serves to teach the process of restoration, costume and dance of the small giants Jordi and Montserrat, and to initiate new wearers. All this reinforces the gigantic feeling and guarantees the generational relief of one of the most beloved figures of the entourage.
Dia del Geganter is filled with majestic steps and tabal music and screams the Vilafranca spring, announcing that the festive calendar is beginning to gain momentum.
