The Caramelles vilafranquinas are unique: the groups —male, female or mixed— take to a stage in the square and perform satirical versions of popular and current songs with adapted lyrics full of picardia. The parodies coexist with the traditional candy that celebrates spring and the Resurrection.
The audience fills the square to see which group will elicit the most applause and laughter. The stage format, established decades ago, has prevented the disappearance of tradition and has endowed it with a carefree tone that engages young people and veterans.
Between song and song, mistela and brunyol are divided and the day becomes a street party that says goodbye to Easter and welcomes good weather.
