Casal La Principal

Founded in 1876, Casal La Principal is the historic Athenaeum of Vilafranca. The building, with an eclectic facade and a hall with high ceilings and semicircular counters, has been the scene of gatherings, silent film sessions, society dances and meetings of wine farmers.
The main hall today hosts screenings of the Cinema Casal, intimate concerts and the Gala of the Administrators of the Festa Major. Attached rooms offer spaces for dance classes, billiards and a bar that maintains the atmosphere of the old cafes.
The Casal preserves photographic archives and old programs that testify to the social life of the town since the late eighties. Modernized with air conditioning and accessibility, it continues to be a meeting point for entities and families, faithful to the associative spirit that saw its birth.
