On Thursday 9 July at 8 pm the stately courtyard of Can Guineu is transformed into a classroom and tasting room to delve into the character of the wine-making Xarel·lo as a sparkling wine. The sommelier of Cal Feru eno·trgovina guides a tour of several cavas from Sadurninenque that work with the queen variety of Penedès alone.
In a relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by centuries-old walls and under the warm lights hanging between the mulberry trees, attendees will discover nuances of fresh grass, fennel and white fruit, comparing aging, methods and terroirs. The Tasting Cycle, now in its sixth edition, is a joint initiative of the Cava Centre and the City Council to bring the culture of sparkling wine closer to residents and visitors.
The capacity is limited and it is necessary to book early entry (€15) through the Giglon platform or at the Tourist Office. At the end, each participant receives a commemorative cup and can continue the evening in the center of the village, which on those nights boils with summer activity.
