Next to the old road that led to the old water mine of the Font del Mingo stands the Carlin tower, built in 1873 in the middle of the Third Carlist conflict as a watchtower and protection of the nucleus of Sant Sadurní. It is a cylindrical work of solid brick and stone, almost 12 meters high, with spirals distributed helically and crowned with merloniate, adapted to the smooth topography of the hill from where the valley of the Anoia River dominates.

It was originally part of a small defensive system improvised by the neighbors themselves to guard the northern access to the town. A simple wooden rake allowed internal access, today replaced by a metal ladder installed as a result of the consolidation that took place in 1998. The internal space, without forging, shows the robust structure designed to hold small projectiles.

With the pacification, the tower lost its military function and was used as a landmark and occasionally as a pergola for drying hi-grapes. Today it remains isolated but accessible by a marked lane within the route of the Sadurninense heritage. An interpretive panel explains to the visitor the context of the Third Carlin War and the symbolic importance of an element that, despite its modest scale, illustrates the capacity for self-organization of the neighbors.
