The popular dances of Sant Sadurní are the folk soul that accompanies all the major festivities of the town. Although the entity was born modernly to group dancers and preserve choreographies, the origins of the dances are lost in the oral memory that links the municipality with the Baroque processions and the first festivities of grace.
Under the umbrella of the association, dances such as the Cercolets Ball, the Tambourine Dance or the Pastorets Ball are rehearsed, all with live music performed by gralles and tabals. Each group wears its own wardrobe - wide skirts of bright colors, sashes, hats - made by hand by volunteers from the village.
The brightest presence is staged at the Festa Major, when the dances are part of the trade parade and the departure of El Gegant and La Geganta. They can also be seen at the beginning of the Call of Phylloxera, turning the street into a carpet of steps and bites that awaken collective pride.
The main mission of the entity is pedagogical: it opens children's groups, organizes workshops in schools and collects scores and steps to ensure continuity. Without them, the Sadurninian festive calendar would lose its color and irresistible wooden music.
