Festival of Sport Sadurninenc

The Sadurninenc Sports Festival is the annual event that closes the sports season in the municipality valuing the effort and perseverance of local athletes, teams and entities. On June 26, 2026, the Municipal Athenaeum was filled to the brim for an emotional gala where awards were given to all disciplines, from futsal to figure skating.
The Sports Service, manager of the Sports Zone and municipal facilities, coordinates the event together with the same entities. The evening begins with an audiovisual review of the best moments of the year: promotion, participation in state championships and small personal feats. Afterwards, the mayor and the Councilor for Sports deliver trophies and diplomas emphasizing values such as effort, dedication and commitment, axes that are the backbone of Sadurnines' grassroots sport.
More than twenty clubs participate in the party: the Noia Freixenet hockey, the basketball and handball sections of the AE Sant Sadurní, the veterans of the Athletics Club, taekwondo schools or rhythmic gymnastics. Each recognition becomes a small collective celebration, with family and friends applauding from the stage.
The event incorporates playful performances — urban dance exhibitions or live music — that give rhythm to the gala. Once the awards are over, the stage becomes an improvised photocall for the athletes to immortalize the moment. Many of the snapshots are later uploaded to the municipal Flickr, weaving a graphic archive that year after year grows and becomes a living memory of the local sport.
The Sadurninenc Sports Festival thus consolidates the culture of gratitude and public recognition, encourages the practice of sport and reinforces the pride of belonging to a people who live intensely the competition but also the friendship and social cohesion that is born in the stands and in the dressing rooms.
